“Working with Evolve helped us make big improvements in our business and we now know how we made those improvements, and what we will do next to sustain and build upon them”
Your program is unique to you, but if you are embarking on a major change program with us, it is likely that you will go through the following key phases:
We often start our engagement with a short, one to three week initial assessment. In this phase, we will be looking to form some initial hypotheses around your potential for improvement, and flag-up the potential barriers to success. As well as providing an experienced and impartial view of your business's change-readiness, and a first-pass view of how we would recommend you move forwards, you and your people also get the opportunity to evaluate us, and form your view of whether you want to make a bigger commitment to work with us.
The Foundation Phase seeks to establish exactly that - the foundation on which you will build your change program.
Key deliverables of the Foundation Phase are the engagement of the leadership and the broader organization to align everyone around a common vision of what you are trying to achieve; the analysis of the business to identify issues and root-cause solutions and to build consensus and momentum around how to move forward, and the development of a detailed business case and the design of the program you will implement.
Like all parts of our consulting process, it is built around you and your people doing the work and having the learning experience, so a key activity of the Foundation Phase is the selection, recruitment and training of your program team - the internal consulting team that will lead the engagement and analysis of the business in this phase, and lead the implementation of change in the later phases.
In the Delivery Phase, your program plan is turned into the new processes, systems and behaviors that will result in sustainable improvements in performance in your business. This starts with identifying and launching the teams of people within the business who will develop the plan further, and execute it in their departments and functions. As they do this, they are supported by the program team and by your Evolve consulting team.
As the business designs and installs the required changes in the processes and systems that will deliver the results you are looking for, your leaders and managers get to practice new leadership and management tools and models that help them to make, more effectively, the interventions that will make the change happen - creating a vision of the future that their people can make an emotional connection to, motivating and coaching them so that they can achieve more and develop their own confidence and capability, and understanding and improving the way their teams work.
As things start to change, progress is measured and reviewed against the program plan and against detailed milestones, so that people can tell when they're being successful, and management can see where and when to intervene if the programme is off-course.
Finally, after the programme is completed and your results delivered, a short Embed Phase provides a structured opportunity for you and your team to step back from what you've done, and reflect upon and capture what has been learnt. Consciously auditing and recognising best practice and new capabilities creates the opportunity to identify where they can be applied to create more value, and helps people to set themselves new stretching targets, so that momentum can be maintained.
