Achieving sustainable cost reduction in onshore gas production
A strategic top quartile asset of a large onshore gas operator was looking to make a sustainable step change in cost performance to respond to changing market conditions. Evolve supported the operations team through a program that helped to bring people closer to the work, by making the operations less functional and more field-based and cross-functional. Coupled with this, Evolve supported changes in the asset management system by improving planning and scheduling and minimizing meetings and overlapping reports. Evolve also supported process improvement to stream line work execution processes. The entire focus of the program was sustainability, by using the improvement opportunities to help line staff learn about continuous improvement, while coaching leaders in how to make better interventions to drive performance.
Results delivered included 22% reduction in labor costs, 30% increase in wrench-time productivity, and 13% reduction in average lead time to execute work, all while maintaining already strong safety and production performance.
